2009 Heritage Days Special Update.
Heritage Days 2009 will go on as planned!
As many of you may have noticed the grounds of Heritage Days at Lewis and Clark Community College campus are undergoing some changes. A large portion of the traditional grounds are now parking lot for the growing number of students the college has. Heritage Days will move slightly further back towards the woods with updated grounds to include a lake, running water, trees for shade, and much larger parking. In the event that the new location is not ready, we will shift the event towards Godfrey Road under the trees of the front lawn. Either way the event will continue on for the 29th consecutive year.
We are excited about these changes and hope you will come visit the event this year!
Heritage Days on the Goshen Trail will be Saturday and Sunday, September 27-28, 2008 on the grounds of Lewis & Clark College in Godfrey, Illinois. The 29th annual event runs from 9:00 until 5:00 both days, rain or shine. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children (5-12). A weekend pass is available for $8 adult and $3 for children. Group rates are available. A free shuttle bus runs from free parking areas to the festival, which is handicapped-accessible.
The Living History Festival features events from the time period 1700-1840, including opening and closing flag ceremonies, folk dancers and singers, fifes and drums, dulcimer players, a storyteller, folk musicians, children's activities, and hands-on quilting.
