HERITAGE DAYS ON THE GOSHEN TRAIL
PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES
Dear Participants:
Please read carefully the following Participant Guidelines. Some information has
changed from previous years.
Your participant button/wrist band must be worn to allow you access back into the grounds, or else you will pay the event admission fee. All participants must wear period-appropriate clothing.
Participants
Booth locations for traditional artisans and foods are pre-assigned spaces by the Heritage Days Grounds Committee and cannot be changed. All primitive area setups are on a first-come basis. All vehicles MUST be out of the exhibit area by 8:00 a.m. There will be no exceptions. No vehicles may enter the grounds until 5:00 p.m. at the close of the day. All booths must be open and period clothing must be worn at all times between 8:45 a.m. and closing at 5:00 p.m. both days, rain or shine.
You must provide a sketch of your site for your application or contract to be accepted.
Pets
No pets of any kind are allowed on Heritage Days grounds at any time. This decision is to protect the health and safety of your pet, your fellow participants, and the weekend visitors. Only service animals will be allowed on the grounds.
Fires, Firewood, and Water
Please do not build ground fires. If you need a fire, remove the sod carefully and save it. When you are ready to leave, make sure the fire is dead, removing partially burned logs, replace the sod in position and level with the surrounding ground and water it before departing. Please do not dump food items in the fire pits. Firewood WILL be available to participants. All booths with a fire must have an approved extinguisher on hand. All unused wood must be removed from your site.
Trash
You may not leave bags of trash, boxes, paper, or any other item for disposal at your assigned site.
Trash must be put in bags and placed in the designated dumpster. Please do not put it in the smaller trash barrels.
Etiquette
The Heritage Days Board reserves the right to cancel a participant's invitation at any time. Excessive loudness, rowdiness, or other disruptive behavior, drunkenness, crude and/or profane language or behavior will not be tolerated. No alcohol is allowed to be brought on to the Lewis & Clark College campus.
Church Services
Protestant and Catholic services will be held on the grounds Sunday morning. Please see Schedule of Events for times and places.
Food Vendors
All food vendors will be required to display a Madison County Health Department permit during the event. This must be purchased by the participant prior to the event date.
Insurance
Heritage Days on the Goshen Trail is not and will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged merchandise or property before, during, or after the event.
Guidelines
Tables should be covered to the ground in the front and sides. No modern chairs.
Tapes or CDs of period music may be sold but not displayed or advertised.
No coolers or other non-period items for storing perishables should be visible to the public. Such items are permitted, but must be kept hidden.
Minor children are the sole responsibility of their parents or the adults who bring them.
Taxes are the responsibility of the vendor.
Raffles may not be held or chances sold without the prior approval of the Heritage Days Committee.
Trader Information
Heritage Days Committee reserves the right to remove inappropriate items and those not listed on your application. Some items not allowed are T-shirts, bumper stickers, souvenir-type items, items using the words “Heritage Days,” posters, and foreign mass-produced items. Books sold are limited to a small selection relating to your specialty. Musicians may sell tapes or CDs of their period music but are not allowed to display or advertise such items.
